Education

Chetna Smile Trust has been making collective efforts in improving the quality of education at different levels, through programmes developed on the basis of the needs of the children in the communities. Empower communities to monitor the functioning of schools and advocate for the implementation of various Acts and Entitlements for quality education for all children.

Develop and pilot appropriate learning models and practices at the grass-root level to enhance the quality of learning.

Livelihood

To ensure a successful livelihood programme, the community members identify the business activity that is suitable for them in the local context and can be sustained. The community members are also trained by technical experts on the best way to promote the business. In order to enable families to enhance income and thereby livelihood, Chetna Smile Trust promotes interventions in the areas of agriculture (production, value addition, food processing, organic farming, irrigation, water development, product marketing etc), livestock development, enhancement of market access, skill upgradation of unemployed youths and community empowerment.

Disability

The objective of our work around disability is that people and children with disabilities will have equal opportunities to enjoy dignity, self worth and self reliance without any discrimination, barriers and bias. Through our inclusive approach, we work towards bringing the voices of the people to the policy makers and to the society, changing attitudes about disability and improving the lives of people and children with disabilities at the grass roots.

Chetna Smile Trust ensures that children and people living with disabilities overcome barriers, their opinions considered, their voices heard and they are given just and fair opportunities in society.

Disaster Relief

Chetna Smile Trust Disaster Management initiative works to provide rapid and effective relief measures to the regions impacted by natural calamities. Our strategy encompasses Preparedness, Response, Recovery, and Rehabilitation with an approach of ‘Building Back Safer’. We use post disaster recovery programming to increase the resilience of buildings and communities to future hazards.

Health check-up camps

Chetna Smile Trust Health interventions work to improve the access to quality healthcare services for the poor and marginalised communities. By identifying the root causes of healthcare challenges, we work at the individual, community, and systemic levels to develop innovative solutions and help implement quality healthcare services. The ambit of our work includes improving of maternal and reproductive health, child health and nutrition, and early identification and treatment of communicable diseases.

Women's Empowerment

Various studies, as well as our experience, have shown that when we work towards women empowerment, the whole society benefits. But unfortunately in India, far from empowering women, most are denied even their basic rights like health, education of girls for women empowerment, employment and a respectable status in society.
